FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHO IS MAKING THIS?
Our director is Pamela Ralat. And our executive producers are the co-producers of Dragathon the event, Emma Mcilroy and Eden Dawn. You can read more about them on our Team page here.
WHEN WILL THIS COME OUT?
We will begin filming in summer/fall of 2024 and are aiming to submit to film festivals in spring/summer of 2025.
I CAN’T REMEMBER IF I SIGNED A RELEASE?
If you were a Dragathon performer or emcee we will be in touch as the film progresses.
WILL I BE CREDITED?
Yes! All performers, emcees, official Guinness bookkeepers, and event staff will be named in the film credits.
WILL I BE PAID?
Documentaries fall under traditional journalism guidelines where subjects are not compensated for coverage or interviews similar to how the news stations were onsite covering the event. The exception to this is if you have great photos or video from Dragathon you’d like to submit to possibly be included in the film, we do have a tiered licensing fee where we pay based on usage time. You can find more info about that here.
HOW ARE YOU FUNDING THIS?
We have received fiscal sponsorship under Fractured Atlas, a 501c3 non-profit which means sponsors are able to donate to this film and receive a tax-deduction to the extent permitted by law. We’ve already received some very generous donations that have allowed us to be in pre-production and will continue seeking them out to cover all the costs of production—filming interviews, editing, music licensing, insurance, etc. until the film is finished. If you or someone you know would like to make a direct donation that link can be found here. If you have an idea for a corporate sponsor or individual donor over $5,000 please be in touch at disco@dragathondocumentary.com.
